Always wanted a fatboy like so many others over the last 15 years. However when the fxdb came out I was sold bigtime. Had a pic on the fridge for a year before I got the green light. The dyna is the perfect HD bike to modify and make your own. Now that I have my sweet bobber I would love to have a bagger.....Street Glide, the nicest lookin bagger there is.
I always wanted a springer but not all the chrome it came with. Bad Boy was awsome. So if I didn't get the WG it would have been a Night Train. I have a springer that is going on the WG when I get home, NT would be getting that springer if I didn't buy the WG.
I was originally going to purchase a Night train when I got rid of my old 1200R sporty, I saw the FAT BOB right next to the bike I was supposed to get and It changed my mind instantly. Now to the original question, If there were no dyna's what I would get. I would have to say I would get a Fat Boy and then when I retire from the Army I would get a Ultra Classic Electra Glide.. You gotta love the Dyna's though.
If I could keep mine, I'd add a Roadglide. If I had to trade mine for a non-Dyna, maybe a Street Glide or Road King Classic, aCross-Bones with a different seat, ora NightTrain. I love the Nightster, but I feel toocramped on it.
When it comes down to it, I'm a Dyna kinda guy, and I'd pick another one, especially if it's my only bike. But then, given the ol' lotto scenario, I'll take one of everything (but I bet I'd still ride a Dyna most of the time).
