Default SE180 installment - Rigid sideplates fitment?

Hey all,

I've been reading that some people say you might need the kit if you have the rigid sideplates/backrest system. Is this true? Local Harley dealer said they would do the installment but I told them I might need the inner sideplates replaced, but most of you seemed to have just mounted the tire with no clearance issues? Could someone help me out here?

I know this subject has been beat to death, but I'd just like to get a direct answer. I know it will fit if you just have a solo setup or the detacheable hardware, but what about the non-detachable rigid sideplates?

Thanks guys!

Cheers,
Adrian

Worked fine on mine, no kin necessary.

Just insure the wires are out of the way. The kit is 60.00 for me it was a no brainer to get it but to each his own.

I just installed the SE 180 on a 06 LowRider with rigid side plates, and I going to go with the Kit.
It is a piece of mind. It tucks the wires in closer and the button head bolts have a much lower profile then the stock 1/2" hex bolts.
Like I said, doing it for a piece of mind. It is real close on my setup with the 180 tire.
don't know how much they flex or issues with 2 up.
Sorry I never responded to your PM About the 160 stocker for sale.
Front and rear rims and tires are going on eBay.

Here is a Pic of the Kit. I had the dealer break it down and ordered the inner side plates and the button head screws.
