I want to be able to run a solo low profile seat that is comfortable when I am riding on a reg basis, and switch to the stock dual seat when the lady goes for a ride. I looked in the HD catalog and saw their solo seat for $300. Can anyone recomend a good quality company for a solo seat on dyna from somewhere other than HD?.
I feel your pain chili. I am a shorter rider looking for a new solo seat. I have an fxdb with the stock solo and it is pretty comfortable but I want an all leather solo, maybe a little red stitching and possible reach to go with it. I have found many sources: LePera- good leathers, expensive and they have the reach option--Mustang, they use a lot of vinyl but still pricey. Corbin has a LOT of options and a pretty good web site that shows you the options you can get---there are a few customs I have heard a lot about also- paul *** and danny grey. I have seen on some posts on hdforums a lot of bikes with a solo LePera that looks pretty sweet----really sits low and may be an issue if your not real tall. But it loks great. Hope that helps
I run a Lepera Barebones on mine and have had great luck with it. Looks great and is comfortable. Probably not going to get a 400 mile day out of it but ive ridden as much as a couple hundred in a day with no problems.
Here ya go, Nick. I researched this as much as I could and chose the Mustang wide solo. It fits my posterior really well and is the most comfortable saddle I've sat on. They also have a standard solo if you're one of the "no butt" kinda guys. Check it out before you decide.
mustang, LaPera, and C&C. they all have web sites and they all make good seats. C&C seems to have the most reasonable prices...and they're good people to work with...IMO
I had a Corbin Classic Solo on mine for about a week. I loved the comfort, awesome quality, but was not sold on the looks and I have a 16 yr. old kid who expressed an interest in two up riding. So.... I sold the Corbin and I am looking for a two up seat that is just as comfortable as the corbin. I would bet the Corbin Hollywood Solo Seat would probably fit your needs perfectly.
