I really love the looks of the solo seats. I want to throw one on my FXDC but as I was working on the bike last weekend I took of the stock seat and on the fender you can see the outline of the stock seat like it wore into the paint on the fender. I was just wondering if any of you guys have the same problem or what can be done to cure the problem. Thanks Ken
You can try to polish the rear fender. There are lots of polishes available just get something with VERY minor abrasives in it so you dont mess up your fender even worse. Go talk to a local body shop. Ask if they painter would let you try some of his finishing glaze.....
Hey 2007fxdc--thanks for the info. I've been waffling on this seat for awhile now. One last question...I know it'll lower you a bit on the bike, but does it push you back any?
Hey 2007fxdc -
thanks for taking the time to answer my PM regarding the lepera.
one more thing - I bought a silhouette from ACM - yet to arrive.
good news is that I have a bastard child (2005) - so as far as seats go - i can usually find a deal - no exception here, 109.99+ shipping for the silhouette.
the pics on ebay did not show a rear mounting tab.
did your seat come with the rear mount tab or did you have to take one off another seat?

Your seat possibly didn't have the rubber bumpers on it? To keep it from getting worse, you can get the seat bumper kit from HD and stick them on the bottom of your seat where it contacts the fender. You may be able to polish out what's been done already, I don't know. The Leperas have a kind of carpet on the underside of them to protect against damage.

Yes it does actually. That's part of what I like about it.

The seats come with a tab but the tab and the bolts to hold it on come ina separate pouch with the seat. It allows you some room for mounting the tab on the seat so you can adjust it if needed to fit your bike. The pictures of new seats wouldn't show the tab because it hasn't been put on yet.
