i vowed to keep my '07 FXD as is (except for the pipes, the air cleaner, the fuel pack, the front pegs, the rack, the turn signal relocation kit - with laydown plate, the ghost bracket setup, the quick release windshield and the trickle charger pig tail).
maybe a few more things... for example, new handlebars for comfort would be nice, i have been researching the flanders beach bars. i kind of think floorboards for long trips. oh, if i do put beach bars, it may make some sense to lower the bike. i always liked the feel of progressives. and also, i saw a post about the air cleaners and the round ones brought back memories. if i just did those things, i can't see needing anything else.
did anyone check out the posts on polishing the lower fork tubes... that's not really altering, thats like all of the above... doing what needs to be done.
