ok here is what i need to know.
i have a 05 sg custom with efi.
it has v&h longshots that i took the baffles out.
I want to put on a hyper charger, want to know what yall think about those, and do i need to put a fuelpak or a power commander on it.
I really dont care much about the performance i like the look of it.
any answers will help
I'm not a fan of hyperchargers... bulky, useless and they break. But if you really want one, I'd say you need some type of fuel management system with your setup.
Well, since you took your baffles out and now have no more back pressure on your engine, you are probably needing more airflow. So since the hypercharger is a more free flowing airfilter it may balance out. Try it, but I would recommend you finding some small baffles or even putting a bolt through the bottom of your pipes(out of sight out of mind) to put some type of backpressure on it. I know you stated that you are not worried about performance, but just think of what the damages to your engine and wallet could be in the longrun. Just some advice is all I am trying to give you. It's your bike, do as you wish.

At onetime I thought I wanted one also.
Like yourself, I thought they looked cool, reminiscent of the hood scoops of 60's muscle cars.
It is generally understoodthat the Hyperchargeris one of the worst choices in terms of performance. So, when it came time for an air box I pulled the trigger on something else.
not a fan of the hypercharger, better off with the se heavy breather 29299-08 Better looking in my opinion. You will need some kind of fuel mgt with that.
[:'(]Hypercharger??[:'(]My Mom taught me; if I can't say something nice... But decide if you like it. Someone quite wise from this forum once said " A poser is someone who gives a rats *** what anyone else thinks" This forum is a great technicalresourse and awsome place to meet new folks and discuss our favorite topic, but beyond that it is opinions, and we all know what they're just like. Sometimes it's helpful to ask for pics from folks with similar set-upsto the one you are considering to youhelp decide. From a performance stand point there are better choices available, and you will need to richen her up a little. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Peace.
