There are all kinds of products out there. There's some 3M stuff I've heard works well but takes a lot of elbow grease. Harley Glaze makes a nice shine but it don't do dick for scratches. I somehow got about a 4 inch long scratch just below my gas gauge. It's a straight line scratch and is fairly light. I bought some scratch and swirl remover from the dealer with the HD brand on it just like the glaze. It said to put it on and work it in a firm circular motion because it is heat activated. I made sure the bike was clean and that I used a brand new micro fiber cloth. Well, now I have circular scratches that run the entire length of the straight line scratch. Just great huh? I have some of the Meguiars - I'll try that next.
i may get flamed for this, but whatever. the best stuff i ever used was honda spray cleaner and polish. unfortunately, i hear it has been discontinued. but, supposedly this is the same formula. its called Liquid Performance Spray Cleaner. scroll down alittle, but here is a place you can get it... $7.50 http://www.scootworks.com/partspolish.htm

No, it is still sold at the honda shop, same looking can, just a new company owns the product.
I LOVE Honda polish. For a while last year it was reformulated because of EPArestrictionsof some sortand pretty much stunk. They fixed whatever it was the reformulation screwed up and it is good again.
I just bought the Denim Black so I am assuming Honda Polish is out for this bike. Someone mentioned a Details section on the forums. I have looked (Twice) but I can't find it. I even used my eyes to look instead of my mouth (which is my first choice normally). Can anyone help me find it... I really need advice on cleaning this flat paint.
I feel fairly qualified to answer this question, as I've just spent 3 damn days buffing out my vivid black tank. My son thought he would do me a favor and polish my bike for me last weekend. So he goes out to my shop and instead of getting the polishing compound............yep, he grabs the rubbing compound.
Ain't gonna lie to you, it brought TEARS to my eyes!!!
I went and bought some new bonnets for the orbital and went to work.
Started off with Meg. ScratchX.
Finished with Nu Finish Scratch Remover as it is a little more aggressive.
Like I said, 3 days.
Topped everything off with 3 coats of 'ICE'. Use only clean micro fiber cloths!
