I've got my 03 Wide Glide put together with the bags and windshield now and I'm not sure what to think... anyone else ride with their stuff attached? OK... bmp pics not supported, anyone know how to change the format of a pic to get it to work here?

Not a big fan of either but you have to throw that out the window when you need those things. I don't own bags but I do have a windshield and it gathers a lot of dust.
As far as pics, if you have a program that you can open the bmp and then "save as" a jpg, that should do it.

I find the windshield realu helpful when on the highway or in the cold. So, I have the detachable HD shield which is on/off in 10 seconds. I have no buffeting at all with my setup.
I have the Boss trunk bag to store my helmet (locks) and have the bags so I can use the bike for practical daily usage. They are Boss also and come off in 10 seconds each. They lock on and have a place for a small padlock also.
when i road trip, i clip on the saddle bags, and shield! ALWAYS!!! you will not catch me on the highway for more than a few hours without the shield... with the apes i am like a KITE without the shield on!
Here I will up the anney a bit. I have shield, bags and engine guard with covers. Some will like it, some will not and some just are not sure. Basically as some others have said, you can get quick detach if you want the choice. Personally, I like the shield on. I sometimes will be just going to a budies house, get over and the next thing I know we are on a 100 mile each way lunch trip. So I just leave the shield on. As for the bags, I go to the store with the bike to get some beverages and well it is not easy trying to find somewhere to put6 if not 12 of them, with the bags, problem solved. PS You can stuff 24 of them in you do it right. As for the engine guard and covers, well I have contacts and the wind turbulance around my face on the highway can get to my eyes threw my shades and drys them out, so with the engine guard covers this is drastically reduced. So as you can see, it all depends on individual choice, what works for you. I think I need another bike, just for short hops.
The bags are a bitch to take off so I leave 'em, plus I carry a ton of crap so need them. The shield comes off when I wash the bike and sometimes when I am running around town but normally stays on most of the time.
