Well here goes. So I've been wanting to get a set of the progressive 412's for what seems like forever and finally the wife gave me the green light. Well I instantly began researching where I was going to buy them. Eastern performance seemed to have the best price but I thought I would see if any of my local shops had them in stock. Anyway after several calls I came across Cyclepath in Garden Grove, CA. He wanted $50 more than EP but PROMISED that the shocks would be in the next day by 1 p.m. I didn't like the price but I try to support the local shops and also the fact that if there was a problem I could return the shocks to the shop. Well 1 o'clock came around and I show up at the shop and guess what NO SHOCKS! As you all can assume I was pissed and did whatever I could not to lose it with the owner; however, I wasn't doing a very good job. Of course he apologized but for what, my bike is sitting in the garage on the lift with no shocks. So I guess I don't get to test them out this weekend and I'm sure that there are plenty of you that knows how that feels. Maybe monday. Thanks for listening and hopefully you all will enjoy the weekend for me.
This is a good place to vent! I'll always listen and can relate to your frustration. Maybe I'm wound a bit to tight, but I think sticking to ones word is very important.
I just loath being bullshitted. Say what ya mean, and mean what ya say.
If the shop gave you a reasonable explanation that's one thing, If their just jerkin your chain to get Business $$$ That another.......
If it helps any I had the dealer do a bearing install for me. Then AFTER the service blil was paid they mentioned that the bearings are not sideload rated. Bike will be on lift for 2 weeks D*cking around to get the config to work. Thank God the WX Sucks and can't ride.
Cheers Man.
I have that beat. I ordered a set of triple trees and waited 6 months. When I got them they did not fit and they wouldn't take them back. I paid $600 and ended up selling them on EBAY for $450 I think. The guy that sold them to me got busted for fraud a year later.
You can just use a floor jack. Just be careful and move slow. I have done it on a few harleys. Loosen the bolts and use the fllor jack to take the weight off and do one side at a time. It just takes a little thought.
Hey Ray that REALLY SUCKS! To be perfectly honest I was planning on riding tomorrow so I thought that I would get a head start on the job and in the meantime touch up the paint on my strut covers ( the poor mans way!).
