There are dealers out there who continue to lead buyers of new bikes to believe that HDs hold their value. Some buyers go for it but are shellshocked in 2 years when they are offered 1/2 what they paid on trade.
What a joke. I see people that price like this all the time. My thinking is they really dont plan on selling the bike. The are fishing for a fool to over pay, but meanwhile the seller is still riding and enjoying the bike and does not care if it sells or not.
So, I asked the seller a question today. Lets see if he actually posts it. It goes something like this. Hopefully all my information was correct...
"I looked at the HD website, and it appears that they still make this bike. I could walk into the dealer and buy one for $17,620. The numbered paint set appears it would cost about an additional $2,000. That totals $19,620 for a BRAND NEW, ZERO miles, Fuel Injected, 96 cubic inch bike. Why would anyone want to spend the amount of money you're asking for on an older, most likely carburated, 88 cubic inch model? Id there something actually "special" about this bike?"
uh, this is a really cool bike with a clock, ya know like Flava Flave wears around his neck. Somebody told me its worth a lot of money so here goes, start the bidding at $ one Million dollars!" (I'm holding my pinky in the corner of my mouth while letting out an evil laugh). Ouch! I just burned myself on my heated grips! Thats just funny, I don't care who you are. I'm sittin' on a WG gold mine right now. I'm gonna quit contributing to my IRA.
