So, I asked the seller a question today. Lets see if he actually posts it. It goes something like this. Hopefully all my information was correct...
"I looked at the HD website, and it appears that they still make this bike. I could walk into the dealer and buy one for $17,620. The numbered paint set appears it would cost about an additional $2,000. That totals $19,620 for a BRAND NEW, ZERO miles, Fuel Injected, 96 cubic inch bike. Why would anyone want to spend the amount of money you're asking for on an older, most likely carburated, 88 cubic inch model? Id there something actually "special" about this bike?"
Look at his ad again. His 88 has 1350cc. Methinks that is 'special'!!!

Geeze------Quit flaming the guy......Maybe some useful sarcasim might help him sell it. He just needs a little assistance from a brother biker.......Please just show him the way
I tried helping him out, so be it if it was in a sarcastic manner. I was hoping he would get the point. From his reply about the chrome, I'm thinking he didn't.
HD's lose 25% out the door then just drop like a rock after that so this dude must be smoking something powerful.
Or it could be the #44 of #175 paint job or whatever the
numbers were......and where do you get the 25% drop in value?
Is this a fact, or an educated guess? I know that since the market has been flooded with HD's the value has dropped, along with the economy the way it is.........
The 25% out the door is from my dealer after I got pissed at my bike and wanted to rid myself of it. The continuing drop is pretty much a fact, at least here in PA. Example would be a 2006 fxdwg with 5000 miles selling for 7K, not a good return I would say.
If he does sell that bike to someone at what he wants for it..I wanna meet the buyer. I gotta whole bunch of **** I can sell him...like my old amber colored plastic lens's from myturn signals...I'll let 'em go for like...I dunno...maybe 6 or 7 hundred...oh..and a left side mirror that's CHROME!...maybe get $400 for it from him...let's see...what else....
