superglide speedo
this is what i did.....also mounted the lights in the dash and cadd drafted the plastic part to have it machined out of alum. what ya think?? o and the bracket for the speedo is home-grown but almost like the old sporty customs had. pre 01 i think had the bracket i speak of.

I like it, and what I like even more is it is a different approach to what can be.
Speedos were made to be moved, altered, digitized, tachorized, straitened up and flipped around........ good job hounddogger!!

thanks doug!! havnt seen anutter setup like it......but i have to admit it turned out better than i thought. i first had the plastic light part in the dash (ya know the stock one from the tree mount) but it blended in with the dash and looked tacky. so im a drafter and me dads a machinest so its always been my creed to make it!!! so i did and the billet part looks stock and in its place.

And you and your Dad made a part together.......... cool.

now i have to ask is the key switch in your dash your doing?? or was it factory like that?? ive never seen that before.....
Well my dad made my 3in ext for my forward but the dash light part was from loner industries and kat i met right here on this forum. i sent my cad file to him and a few weeks later i had my part and he did a really good job. sorry 4 the confusion but i wanted to get loner the street credit he deserves!! lol but yes my father has help me alot and its really cool to work side by side cause theres alot of people out there that dont even have a dad or speak to them. i maybe 1500 miles away from him now but hes still helpin me out!

I am working with jmpancoast to get his switch moved to the fuel gauge hole, which may look nicer, yet.
I like the switch location where I put it. It's been there so long I tend to forget itdidn't come from the factory that way.
It was pretty easy to do. Just drilled (carefully) a 2" hole in the console, and with screws and spacers mounted the switch. Used RTV to contour and seal out water, then ground out the inside diameter to a chrome fuel gauge ring to trim out the switch. If I were to do it again, I think a 1 3/4" hole may have been a better fit, though.

I punched mine at 1-7/8ths, which left me a couple thousandths small. Minimal cleanup work afterwards.
If you punch it at 1-3/4's, it's too much like work to finish it off
