When I bought my 07 FXDC last July I swore I was only changing the pipes...$5,300 worth of accessories later...
+1 except I don't think I'm approaching 5k yet. If I am, I don't want to know.
But, I've learned a lot here and saved a lot of money as well by learning that there are other places to buy accessories and that I can do most of the work myself. Plus I hope I've made a few friends and future drinkin/ridin (not at the same time of course) buddies as well.

oh yeah, i forgot to add... i am also in need to change the handlebars (but that's a real need. these stock bars suck big time! back aches... wrist cramps...).
really torn if i should be safe and go with apes or dare for something new and go for the beach bars.
i value all your opinions so let's hear some thoughts... who can cost me the most $$$?
I've found the best way to spend ALOT of money in the shortest amount of time is to look for parts by Roland Sands Designs. Take a look at these bars, only $430.99 out of the J&P catalog (J&P is another way to get rid of alot of money in the fastest way):
So true. BUT lots of nice stuff. I'd love to have that exhaust on my bob. I put the bars on mine and they are absolutely sick compared to my stock bars. I love that bike.

Same here!!! I traded mt Heritage for my SB and said "All I'm gonna do is an exhaust and intake and thats it"... Well, barley even over 100 miles on the bike and I'm already $1500. into it and my wish list is a mile long. Doing things slowly so my wife doesn't notice to much at one time... HA, HA, HA, HA...
