I'm looking for the best aftermarket shocks, black naturally, for my street bob. I'm looking at Works and Progressive. Recommendations? I did a search and did not find much on Works shocks....
Progressives are nice but if moneys no object Penske or Ohlins are better.I have Progressive 412 HD as in heavy duty not exactly what I would call plush but really tightens up the handling.

+1 -> slammed my '07 St Bob w/black 11" Prog. 412 HDs and Prog. front springs, lowered to match, and WOW! What a great improvement - best mod so far for style AND performance, IMHO! Real firm and planted in the twisties now, but watch out for pot holes, expansion joints, and RR tracks or you might find yourself off the seat! LOL!
There are other good shocks out there, I'm sure but I've used progressives on back for 4 different bikes and they're excellent. If your "slammin" a pair of 412's will do; if it's handling your heading for then I have replaced the stockers on my FXDXT with 418's; they're excellent, but should be matched with a pair of race tech emulators in the front forks so you have better suspension on both ends...
I have Progressive 440's on my '06 StreetBob with Racetech cartridge emulators and progressive springs on the front. Made a world of difference and gives me flexibility- solor riding at 185lbs and 2 up with gear at gross weight max for the bike and tires. The difference in handling is very noticeable over OEM shocks and springs. Handles firm in curves, brake dive eliminated(almost all of it), and doesn't bottom out over potholes when fully loaded. Best $ I've spend on upgrades so far. Jay
