TNBRIT, that is a sweet setup. \\; That's what I'm trying to do, except with drag bars. \\; Thanks for the pic and info. \\; Now I know it's possible.
does that setup utilize our speedo or did you get a new one????
I noticed the reset button is in a different location on the xl custom which is why I asked...

Speedo fits,no problem,if you buy off Ebay,make sure \\;the setup is with the idiot lights(they're $54 from dealer),then all \\;you need to do is join the wires by the \\;colours to the Dyna harness(I soldered &\\; heat shrinked them)the Sportster riser i used was 04 &\\; later.
Brit. \\;
I have an 08 FXDC and I out on the HD pullback risers and it was the best thing I ever did. \\; I am 5'10" also and have the mids still. \\; I did not have to change the cables at all they were all long enough. \\; I debated getting new bars also but figured I would try the risers first and I love them. \\; They look pretty good too, I was waorried about that but they look good.
i am not sure if the application would be the same, but I changed my stock handlebars on an 07 fxdc to the street slammers without having to change out any of the cables. \\;
Tnbrit that is a sweet setup. Great look that I'd like to put on mine. I went the easy route and put on Sportster bars and painted the speedo.
 \\;
 \\;
Actually, I didn't order the handlebars myself. \\; My bike is already in the shop getting some work done and it took a month of sitting on bikes with different handlebar set ups before I finally said to order them. \\; They are just going to throw them on initially to make sure I like them before they actually install them. \\; I'm sure the risers would have worked well but I didn't want to mess with the position of the speedo. \\;
I've got to say it again, expy\\; that set-up is just killer! \\; Absolutely love it! \\; [sm=drooldude.gif]
