Any of you WG owners have solo saddles on yours?
I'm thinking of a solo seat but I'm not sure what to do with the space behind me. I hate to lose the hard mount sissy bar. Something about the Made In USA eagle on the back that I like. Just looking for ideas on what others have done. Maybe have the stock seat passenger pillon shaved down to almost nothing and get some memory foam or gel padding put in my stocker, to make it a low profile. Any ideas would be great.
You can buy a phantom pad that has six suction cups on a plastic base with a thin layer of foam on top. I can't remember where I got mine. Think it was J&P. It doesn't stick worth a damn on my black denim, just use a black bungee hooked on the sideplates when I need it, but understand it sticks really well on regular paint with clear coat.
I'm right there with you, big j... I wanted to do the same thing, but removing the sissy bar was going to be hassle and I wasn't to sure about how the rear fender would look naked like that. So I took one of my seats down to a shop in town and had them shave the rear and re upholster. Looks alright, but not low pro enough for my taste just yet. Gonna take it back and have him shave a little more off the back!
I bought a solo and a fender bib. I like it. I changed my sissy bar to detachable.
I need to take some pictures, just haven't had time. Now I'm at home sick.
I'm running a Corbin Hollywood Solo on my WG. Removed the sissybar and sideplates, but left the rack on, ( dont know if you can do that with a newer model).
IMO, looks much beter than they do with 2up seats and sissybars.
