Today I traded in my 05 XL1200C Sporty for a 05 Wide Glide. I am a regular poster in the Sporty section but never here. I loved my Sporty but it just wasnt good for two up riding because Iam a big guy.
So anyway........I hope I can join you guys and get a lot of much needed advice on this model.
The first thing I noticed was that I felt like the bike was really slow compared to the Sporty, but then I looked at the speedo and it said I was doing 70. I felt like I was doing 35-40. This bike is very smooth. I am not looking for a 6th gear like I did on the Sporty. I love that!!
Right now my only problem is that I need somelonger foot controls.
This bike only has 5500 miles and has the Screaming Eagle intake and pipes. I assume it was properly remapped because it runs really good. I never had a fuel injected bike so I have nothing to compare it too.
I just snapped this picture, I will get some real pics tomorrow.
Welcome to the Dyna family, I also went from a Sporty. I could not be happier. Love the Street Bob. You will learn alot from these guys, they are all a great source of information. Ride safe.
Please allow myself to introduce myself.........I mean welcome! Nice choice, and I know what you mean about the gear thing. It seams like the sporty needsa 6thmuch more than the Dyna.
