I have the Black Denim. Easy to maintain the paint. I just wipe it off with a slightly damp cotton cloth. THe Street Bob is a hot commodity here in Tallahassee, especially the Black denim. I had to order mine and got the first one ordered here in Tallahassee. The dealer ordered 2 more black denims and as soon as they hit the floor they were sold. I'm not worried about others having the exact same bike because you can customize it and no two denims will be the same. Just picked mine up today after getting the 1000 mile tune up and the SE2 slip ons and download. Boy, what a difference. Sounds like a Harley now. Get what ever grabs you. Customize it to be one of a Kind. This bike, in whatever color, is going to be a Classic.
overthehill, did you notice a good power increase with the slip on's and download? A friend of mine bought a '06 1200 custom and the rejet kit and slip on's were an amazing increase in both sound and power.
Streetbob. Yes. Sound is deeper and louder by far over the stock, and some moderate increase in the power. I noticed going up the gears from 1-5th a faster pick up going into each gear. Have not been going fast enough yet to put it in 6th.
There's a lot of new Street bob owners...and this message board is showing the popularity. Funny thing is, it's one of the few times I see something that seems to be "in style", or "fashionable" with the crowd...and yet...it's timeless. Just a fantastic bike. Congrats to Harley.
Of course...Harley did a similar thing in 1980....and us FXDWG owners have another bike that will never go out of style
yes, back when i first opened the 06 catalog for the new bikes and saw the bob i knew that this was the one, I also thought that black denum and black would be real popular so i went with the cobalt... i also figure some extra chrome, some lights, just to be a little bit different.....nothing wrong w/ a flashy bobber right! putting some chrome trans covers on when i get the recall done, then battery box, electronic box and coil cover in chrome.
i have the black denim bob and i spray windex on the surfaces and wipe off with a terry cloth to clean it up also do the samething with chrome.here in the new orleans area i've yet to see another bob anywhere around here.the dealer i got mine had to trade another dealer to get my bike and they where about 200 miles away.they said when my bike came in it was the first they seen one in person so i feel kinda honored to say i have the first.i do get ALOT of attention i personally love the attention so its ok.
