Default Lowering FXDF ??????

Has anyone lowered there Fatbob? If so what shocks would you recommend and were you able to keep the same look as the stock shocks? Also how low did you go and how did it effect the handling? Pics? Thanks for the info.

Taz, Progressive Suspension makes full cover chrome shocks that give the same appearance as the stock fatbob and they come in different lengths. I'm getting some for my FXDC but only going about a half inch lower. You can get them shorter than that though.

I'm about 3 hours northeast of Fayetteville. You can check their website for fitment and see what your options are. I don't know what the stock length for your bike is. I'm told mine is 12.6", though I didn't verify it, and I'm going with a 12" replacement. And I know they make the same shock in an 11" that would drop me a total of 1.5". But, I'm 6'4" and, while I would like the look of my bike that low, I'm not sure I really want to go that low. You also need to make sure bottoming out won't become an issue when you drop it that far. I'm planning to go to a bigger rear tire soon and I don't want to push it.

Taz, I'm running 11" Progressives "HD" Bottoming out is not a problem even with 2 up and it handles like a dream.
It is a firm ride, when solo. I often do service calls in Sacramento (200 miles one way) but I still have the stock seat on.
I'm 220lbs. today[:@] and the GF 140lbs the only problem has been going over a speed bump too fast and making contact
with the trany guard. Oh and I have scraped the pipes in hi speed bumpy turns, I try slow down a bit more now.
I'm looking into the front end next, Progressive did'nt have anything for the DF when I got the rears.

i 1st lowered my fat bob with the progressive 11" in back and a 1" spring lowering kit in the front and bottomed out on the speed bump on my street (never before) and scrapped pegs starting with the 1st turn.

that's on standard progressives set at position 3 and i weigh 155.

also, with both ends lowered the stock kickstand is pretty much worthless. i took all that off and completely changed the suspension and tires/wheels

I have the Progressgive 412s on the rear and love the way the bike handles. No bottoming out, no scraping. Just lowered and sweet!

I need to lower my fat bob i have a 27 inch inseam but i also ride 2up 75% of the time. how do I lower it and not have any bottoming out issues. I have already had my seat worked on and it dropped me down but not enough for my liking any help or ideas would be sweet.
