I've done it with my Buell, but it's a lot lighter than a cruiser. Plus it's not really fun. The trick is to find a slope and pop third. Gotta be aware that the tire has a tendency to lock up.
Not likely, if the battery is dead. The fuel pump has to run first to supply the gas to start the engine................ On the other hand, if it's a Starter problem do as buellrider76 said. I would suggest a steep hill
Just a reminder............... NEVER make more than 1 pot of 12VDC coffee, without starting the bike and recharging the battery, before the 2nd pot. This is how I know that bke ain't gonna start with a dead battery, even if you ride down a steep mountainside
when i removed my tank off the 2008 i had to run the motor a bit to empty the pressurized part of the fuel system prior to loosening that line inside the tank, i wonder if the bike can be push started with that fuel then the pump can kick in after the bike cranks over.
the other great thing about a dyna, ya can use the rear shocks to push pretty good on!

Whooops. I thought that if the battery was dead, you could push start it. That's what we used to do with our three wheelers back in the day (at least, that's what I think I remember?)
yes you can! I have had mine completely dead after leaving the key on all night, put it in second, got to running then popped that clutch FIRED UP!!! the whole time i was trying (and it did take like 8 trys) my dad is standing there with his arms crossed saying you can not start a fuel injected bike like that... i have done it before TONS of times on rockets... i did not see a reason why i could not on my bob... sure enough! roared to life! be sure you have it in 2nd gear and you are golden (pretty much every bike when you pop start them should be in 2nd
