I have LED turn signals and tail/stop light. I did this because I wanted to be SEEN. They are SUPER-bright, dont change the appearance of the bike and I think they look far better than stock bulbs. I had the opportunity of getting hold of set of purple-UV LEDs for mounting under the tank etc. I have not done this yet but am thinking that I will later in the year.
To see what they look like and to assist you with placment, get a small 9v battery, temporarilly mount the lights with removeable tape and connect the battery. The LEDs drain very little power and there is enough power in the battery to give you a good idea how it would look. Bear in mind that they will be much brighter when connected to the real 12v system. That way, if you dont want them, dont install them - your call.
The sets come with a separate on/off switch so if they are not switched on, no-one would ever know. I only plan to use mine when the bike is at rest. Having them on when it is mobile - well the jury is out on that one - LOL.
The really nice thing about Harleys is that you can do whatever YOU want, more chrome, less chrome, whatever. I say, to hell with cheesy, if it looks good and you like it - GO DO IT!!!
I don't mind 'em....I think different is good. I don't think I'll put them on my Glide, but that does not mean they are bad...it just means I don't want them..I think I am rambling and will go for another "little glass"
I have ONE I say Again only ONE lol mounted on the exhaust pipe clamp on my longshots that is blue.It is actually the led light that goes on the license plate in the bolt holes.I have a toggle switch on it and it really lights up the back of my bike at night. Just a little something extra to be seen from the back.Cheesy, well everyone that see's it likes it.and wants me to wire one up for them.
