Jackyls 2" tank lift
I had to take out the front gas tank bolt and lift the tank to be able to get to the wires under the tank .
Anyway I was looking at lifting the tank a couple inches , But After I spaced it up 2 inches and rotated the steering left and right I noticed the button head bolts on the forlks were going to hit . Also the metal brake line loked to close as well .
Anyone else with a Low Rider notice this ??
I measured a quick measurement and 1 1/2 inches looks to be abought max .
Jackyl do you make a 1 1/2 inchtank lift ?
You can see here that it's close like that...but when the bars are turned, the corners would definitely hit. Imagine the single bolt through there...I have the two bolts on there in the pic.

I just installed a screaming eagle headlight on my 2007 Harley Dyna Low Rider .

YES. I have an 07 Lowrider and those bolt heads did hit the tank after installing the 2" lift.
I moved the tank BACKWARDS about 3/4". I did this by making the slot that the tank bolts to at the back of the tank (near the seat) longer. I reamed it with a drill, thus the tank was moved back and then there was enough clearance at the front for full rotation of the handlebars without hitting that bolt.
Now the 2" lift has no interference issue.
Here is how it was before moving the tank back 3/4".

This is probably due to manufacturing tolerances. I will say that Jackyl helped me with this and was great in getting it all resolved. It is in a very unnoticable place and fixed up with nice Harley touch up paint.
Pic of my bike below is with this 2" lift installed.

Just my opinion .

I ,d rather go abought an inch and a half high and not mess carving up my Brand new bike .
Seams like the seat will wear a lot more on the tank and eventualy wear off some paint .
I ,m sure if you took it to the dealer and they took off your seat for warranty work there could be questions ?
I no its an easy solution just not for me .
I,ve seen WS6 Formularaised his 1.60 inches .
Apparently had the same issue .
I think it looks good..
Maybe just me but I dont care abought the idea of reaming out the rear gas tank hole witha drill or any other tool .

I made it from some brackets, stainless threaded rod, chrome acorn nuts, chrome washers, stainless washers for spacers between lower bracket and original mount on frame and a pipefor a spacer between tank mounts, all can be foundin a hardware store.
The brackets were a "L" shape piece of metal that I drilled to the 1.60" spacing and used a coin for the radius on the ends (a quarter).
Pipe spacer between tank tabs will also need thick large washers that you can make out of the bracket material (quarter diameter). If you don't use washer the pipe will dig into the paint and the paint will chip off.

I don't think I've seen it in all its glory just yet.
Also, it's a purely cosmetic mod, right?
