Default NEED HELP PLEASE!!

I've strippedtwo of theTORX screws on my cluch inspection cover. So much for self maintenance.

The bike is an'02 DWG and I assume these are the original screws when the bike was bought T-25(I picked her up used about 1 1/2 years ago).

What methods do you guys suggest for removing these? I plan to buy a whole new set if I can ever get them off. The crappy thing is I've already drained the primary oil so I can't take it to the dealership as I have no way of trailering it. The other bummer is the weather is awesome right now and I can't ride

Thanks in advance.

Here's one method bb -

cut a slot in it and then use a straight blade screwdriver.

Last summer there was a guy who stated he uses red loctite on everything, including his derby cover. Why not the inspection cover? He caught a ration of **** for it... Sounds like he sold his bike to you. j/k...

I'm trying to go from memory, but doesn't the inspection cover take a T-27???

If Mud's suggestion doesn't work, drill the head off them. You won't hurt anything. Get a drill bit that's the same size or just a hair larger than the diameter of the shank of the fastener. Drill the head off the ones that are screwed up. Then remove the screws that are okay. Get a pair of vise-grips or pliers of some sort and remove the shanks from the bad ones. You'll have to get new screws, but you are going to need to do that anyhow.

Pretty sure both the derby cover and inspection cover use #27 torx.

Might try some screw removers. You should be able to get them at Sears, Lowes, or Home Depot. You might have to drill them out a little. Good luck.

Ride Safe.
