I stripped my torx screws on the derby cover. Well I got them off but I drilled a little. I drilled at an angle and drilled a bit of the thread. Not all of it but enought that have the thread length has a drill bit drilled out.
Someone please explain to me the consequences for being so stupid and impatient!!
I replace torx head screws with Alen head.I think you should be OK.Put a little gasket sealer around the cover and let it dry for a while before you ride.
The consequences are that you have been automatically admitted to a very large group of dummies who have done the very same thing. What you have in common with the rest of them is the knack for turning expensive machinery into a cobbled up DIY repair job. That, and the fact that, rather than learn to do a job, properly and w/ the right tools, you (all) plunge ahead, ignorant of the fact that you're making a big mess for the next owner.

Oh, and then blame it on cheap Harley fasteners.
Yeah I get that. I'm asking if I permanently damaged it or if I need to take it somewhere to get it fixed.
Pictures? If I'm understanding right your saying when you drilled the fasteners out you damaged the threads on the primary cover? Lots of guys make mistakes when in a hurry (including me). No sweat, at the end of the day it's all time and money lol.
