Default Be Cool, or be warm

I think after this morning - I will choose to be warm.

Ok, so it's going to top out at close to 80 degrees up here today (southern NH) for the first time since September, 2007.

That's no excuse to simply wear shades and fingerless gloves for the morning ride IN to work, is it? You all know, just so you can go helmetless in the really warm temps later, and not have to strap it to your fender....

The temp when I rode in was 41. I had frozen solid hands (they hurt like h*ll) and face upon arrival at work, and I (thank God) do not have to jump on a highway to get here.

Never again. Never again.Helmet, balaclava, full gloves, full jacket, chaps, and a plastic bubble if they ever make one...I hope I can manage to click the mouse to post this...my right hand is in the form of a claw at present with zero feeling.....Oh...I am using my nose to type.

That is what it is like to live in Florida.

Years ago, I didn't have a cage, and lived in Florida with a 120 mile round trip commute, but mostly highway. Leaving before sunrise in the winter was cold, but coming home everyday was what it is all about.

You learn quick how to dress for the days journeys.

I did that for a few years till I finally broke down and bought a cage.

I'm hangin'.....it was just such a l o n g winter.

When I was in the Navy (20 years ago), I lived in San Diego and only had a bike for transportation. Rode year-round. In the winter months like December and January, cold rainy mornings in the 40's can really be a bear...I used to dress for it back then though. I guess that old addage, "young and stupid" sometimes isn't true!!

As a native New Englander, I say bring on that global warming!!

Got ya beat - 85 here today. Trying to get my work done so I can get out. And for the first time in a month, no rain predicted for Saturday - at least not until late in the night and a mild 80 degrees tomorrow.

as a guy who rides in at 25 degrees, I know the pain even with the basics, as a mountain biker for years, I have winter peel off thermal leg and arm warmers, I wear for the ride in, they peel right off when I get to my desk, and slip in my fork bag for the ride home. waiting for summer here, snow in tonights forecast.... ice age in the northwest?

61 degrees for my ride in this morningto Tampa. I had to chose between leather or nylon jacket. When with the lighter of the two and it was OK. I used to belong to an enduro club in Atlanta that put on a National race in March. You guys coming from the north to run our race and then head down to bike week in Daytona would crack me up. Watching guys and girls getting curedof cabin fever was fun.

Hada similarsituation yesterday. 39 degrees when I left for work high 70's on the way home. I bring a back pack to stuff my layers of clothing in on the way home. Must invest in some heated gloves or grips, my fingertips felt like each one was hit hard with a hammer.

Well, it's going to get a little chillier in the Northeast, and then heat right back up again, and then back to the 60's. I CAN predict the weather! I've been doing it for the last 5 years. Originally from Southern NH, but the USAF sent me to Northern ND! How funny the guys giving out the orders are sometimes!!! [:@]

Anyway, when it warmsup here, and the jet stream stays on it's "normal" pattern, you guys get our weather, although it's usually about 10-20 degrees warmer for you all within 2-3 days from when we get it. Soooooo, it's going to be warm there for the next week or so. Hopefully this all works out right, and you guys don't get caught out in some snow or something (like you haven't had enough of that this year ).

Have FUN!!!
