Default America can smile

For those of you over there with economic blues, a few jokes to cheer you up at Europe's 'expense' :

- For us with Euros, the basic Fat Fob now costs the equivalent in dollar terms of well over 25,000bucks
- for the pleasure of that price, I got to wait 8 months, would have been longer if not in black
- stage 1 kit (filter, SE power commander + SE pipes) just cost me $ 5,400 before labour
- your great after market kit has a slightly lower price difference, but we get to lose our overpaid warranty

Not much of the difference can be explained on tax, and dealer fees the same, so figure who your side is reaping it.

Feel like I've got a pretty big dunce's cap on, but its a great bike and the ride will be enjoyed long after the bill is forgotten. Or until I fill-up, last tank cost me 5 bucks a gallon.

Will definitely be coming over for a partsshopping spree, airfare and hotel cost quickly covered !any suggestions as to which after market parts shop in NYC I should head for first ?

The hell with NYC. Take a connecting flight to somewhere worth riding, and rent a sled for a few days while you're here!

Ouch! I got Fuelpak, V&H slipons and SE air cleaner shipped over from an independent in the states for about ÂŁ400 all in, and fitted them myself in a couple of hours and I'm no mechanic. You need to shop around more.

sounds to me like a small price to pay for a piece of our AMERICAN way of life. It should be worth it,considering we have had to bail damn near every other country in the world out of trouble at some point or the other in the past 105 years that these great AMERICAN machines have been built.
