hi all,
My brother has just bought a 35yr anniversary model dyna...cool bike.....(I'm still waiting ..unpatiently..on a St. Bob),
but last weekend himself and his girlfriend headed away to get some miles up, but
unfortunately for her, the ride on the back was totally chronic.
I guess one thing he can do is put a mini sissy bar on the back to stop her from falling around ("mini" is even pushing it over here.......sissy bars are probably similar to you in the US painting your harley pink........),but does anyone know of a better seat that would fit this model??.....I've seen some of the bigger options in the HD catologue,
but I think he would prefer someting in between so as not to lose the style of the bike.
I've seen the posts on footpeg vibration but i dont think that was the issue.
if anyone has any ideas it would be great.
thanks,
Martin
its just a pity about the cost over here.....(e.g. SEII pipes, 80258-99a are about âŹ400....thats $500....!!!!....)
For those times when I ride a passenger on my Dyna, I switch stock seat to Harley's "sundowner touring seat" and click on my quick detachable tall back rest. Works perfect.
My wife could not ride more than 20 minutes on the factory 05 FXDCI seat so I bought the HD sundowner seat, and I have to say it is very comfortable for both of us. Also the lines of the seat realy matches the dyna well so the seat still looks good on the bike.
I have a sissy bar on my WG, but I think that model looks good with it. The WG seat is great for me. However,I just did a 600+ miler to laughlin. I was fine the whole way. WIfe had no probs the 300 miles there, but the 300 miles back the next day bothered her. I may get a seat from www.harleyseats.com when I get back from the next deployment. They have some sweet seats at comparable prices.

I agree that the sundowner seat is incredibly comfortable, and made all the difference in the world for myself and my wife. We tried one out, and it was like sitting on a couch. That said, I don't really agree that the "lines of the seat match the dyna well". Perhaps you should've specified that it looked good on your dyna FXDCI...only reason I'm mentioning this is because I was all set to buy this seat, but when I stepped back and looked at it on my DWG, it really looked pretty bad....especially the passenger section. It just seemed to stick out way too far on the sides of the fender, and was really just out of place on this particluar model. This was unfortunate because it was so comfortable. I ended up going with something else just for that reason.
I'd actually really like to see a pic of your bike. I'm not doubting that the sundowner seat looks good on it...I wish it looked good on mine. Just want to make it clear that this seat may look good on some dynas...but in my opinion, not all.
