Cruising home down a long straight road, guess I laid on the throttle a little too long...I know I was over 70 a few seconds before I spotted the cop, but I don't think I was still over 65 when he got close enough to clock me. Oh well. First ticket on the bike. First ticket in over 10 years otherwise....

See if you can take defensive driving class, ticket will be dismissed and no insurance prem increase. Eight hours of your day gone but probably worth it. I usually have to take it about every three years I'm about due again.

Tough break. Would have been over $150 here in Texas. Anything over 10mph past the posted is outrageous here!

Guy must either been hard up for a ticket or just not like bikers.
So far this year I've stopped 10 bikes and only written one ticket.
He was on a rocket and the first thing he said to me was "What the F#@K you stop me for?"
I explained the reason and then told him "press hard there are 5 copies".
He did n't think it was that funny.

Dang, only 12 over and you got a ticket. Ironically, I think one of the most dangerous things you can do on a bike is ride the speed limit. I even had a cop tailgate me once for doing 35 in a 35.
