The speedo numbers are always there. The Key light will stay red if you don't key the ignition to the off position. I'm thinking both must be getting power from a capacitor.
I ordered it from Chicago Harley $399 and they asked for my odometer setting. The price is unresonable but I want a tach and don't want a seperate gauge on my bars.
The darn ness thing happened when I changed to
Cycle Shack Turn Outs. I now not only can hear but
also feel when it's time for a gear change.
I got a different air cleaner and a completely new Dyno Tune
at the same time.
My bike runs better now than it ever did.
No tachometer needed anymore was a unexpected bonus.
Go figure. Just like the old days.
I have an opportunity to buy a new tach/speedo for my bike from an individual...what do I do about the mileage?...are you guys replacing the stock setup with a combo showing 0 miles?..if ordered thru a dealer, they set the odometer before they ship...???...thanks

RE: combo speedometer/tach
I bought the 74718-08 and got a %15 discount. I like it a lot, I am very used to having a tach when I ride. The digital clock is a nice feature, but this one does not allow changing the illumination color. I planned on changing out at 500 miles and ordered it w/500 miles on it, but it came w/zero. Annoying, but I just know to add 500 to the odometer
