hey ya'll as you know i put on a tach this winter using a low rider dash and a bit of cutting... i have been able to put aobut 2000 miles on it now... i have to tell you... GET ONE! you will love it... i ride my bike for all that 88ci has to give, only have stage 1, v&H big radius (thanks sky), and SERT... and just by knowing where i am when i shift it is like a whole new bike... i can crack 2nd and break it loose now... just awesome.... just wanted to give an update... DO IT! you will love it!
I would love a tach, but I will have to go with the two in one Tach/Speedos that HD sells, on my SuperGlide Custom. I was torn between the Low Rider and the Custom and finally went with the Custom because I like having the key on top of the tank, hated the bikes I've had that the key was on the neck. Your mod looks cool!!!
i have a write up on my home PC... i forget who did it but it is a great write up... basicly it plugs right in! you just need to get the little plug... boom you have a tach... just like that!
i usually just shift after i bounce around on the rev limiter for a while. after i dyno my junk again maybe i'll pick up a shift light so i can shift when i need too.
I must admit that JRK has a good point. I have done this mod also about a year ago and dam it is awesome. The job was not hard, parts were not bad price (at least for me, found online used). For what I paid for parts and the time to install, it was more than worth it.
PS Joe, bike is looking sweet!
