My bike will have to have it's first MOT (annual vehicle safety test in the UK) this year and it'll fail with the V&H slip-ons etc fitted. Being as it was such a pain to get the Fuelpak neatly tucked away I'm wondering if I can temporarily set all the program values on it to 0 instead of removing it just for the test. So does anyone know if setting all the Fuelpak values to 0 effectively just makes the bike work as though it wasn't fitted at all? Or do I have to skin all my knuckles and swear a lot again to remove and refit it?

I would assume the answer to your question is no. Since 0 seems to be a valid setting for some of the modes, I wouldn't assume it necessarily turns that mode "off". You may be on the money, but don't assume you are. Email or call fuelpak tech support. They are very helpful and respond in a reasonable amount of time to email questions as well. Explain your situation and they should try to help unless legal reasons would prevent them from telling you what to do other than just unplugging it from the bike.
I feel your pain. A few weeks ago, I was having some funky issues with the way my bike was running. I thought it may be related to the fuelpak and the only suggestions I could get were to remove it and see what happened. I wasn't looking forward to that. Fortunately, the issues did not occur again and I haven't had to do anything. I had recently washed the bike and suspect water had gotten into something that caused the temporary issues. Bike has run like a top since then.
You don't have to have the bike running well to pass an MOT - so just put the old pipes back on and take to your local tester without changing anything and it'll pass fine if the usual safety stuff is good to go.
