new bikes from factory a set up for average rider I'm guessing aroud 180 lbs. the majority of my riding will be with the wife togher we weigh around 300lbs has anybody out there adjusting the shocks for two up riding my weight is 185lbs thanks for the help
jblawnman, in the owners manual for your bike, it tells you how to adjust the suspension. You will probably have to buy a spanner wrench to do the rear shocks. I am unsure how you would adjust the front. I think you have to buy new springs and spacers to do the front. If you are going to do a lot of two up riding, you may want to buy heavy duty rear shocks. There is many options out there, you just have to spend the money!
JBLAWNMAN, Iahve a FXD and my aife and I together are about 310. I adjusted the rear shocks to the third section of the rear shocks and I don't think you have to do anything to the front, I didn't.

I weigh 235 lbs and the ol lady weighs 125 lbs. I just set the shocks at the highest setting and only bottomed out a couple times when hitting deep potholes. This is with stock shocks on a 1995 Dyna. I'm switching to Progressive suspension components this summer, though. Mainly for better handling on the mountain roads that I ride on all the time.
