Default how do you know its time to Dyno PCIII??

hey folks,
i have read and searched, searched and read. but how do you know if you need to get your bike dyno'd???

i just put on V&H short shots staggered, HD stage 1 with Evo cover, and PCIII mapped from fuel moto. it starts and runs great, i think. i set the throttle position and it runs better than when i started the first time. but i have noticed a little popping/gurgling when i close the throttle in gear... it goes away when i pull the clutch. itsounds like many harleys i have heard in the past and present.

i have read that since my pipes dont have crossovers there may be more gurgling than pipes with a crossover tube? is this correct?

is there is videosor sound clips ofa bike popping ondecel???

i have installed all this myself and really like the feeling it gives me! i dont want tospend another 300 or so bucks to have it tuned if i can just tweak the map myself! any advice you folks can give me???

thanks for you input!

also posted in tuner sections with no action, so i know i can count on some action in the best section on this site... DYNAs RULE!

First off, if your bike is running okay, then you don't have to have it dyno'd right away. However, you are running a "canned" map for your setup so it's not likely that your bike is "perfectly" tuned - but that's probably okay. However, if you want it optimumly tuned, you'd have to get it dyno'd by someone that knows what they are doing. Lots of people order PCIII's pre-programmed by Fuelmoto and just run with it. You can always wait to find a dealer running a dyno special or something if you are happy with the way it's running right now.

If you're happy with the way it runs leave it alone. If you're not getting allot of popping on decel it's probably not running lean enough to hurt anything.

i have the same bike, same pipes, BS stage 1 and a PCIII from Jamie and it runs great, a little "gurgle" but thats fine you just dont want popping, crackle etc on over run. If you want i can email you my map and you can compare

I have the Vane & Hines FuelPak and get the decel poping as well. In fact, I beleive eberyone who puts on a fuel management computer gets some popping on decel. If your gettign it on accelleration, then there is a problem.. I regret not putting the PCIII on my low rider, V&H keeps all their mappings a secret so adjusting anything is useless when you have no idea what each mode does.
