Thank you for your letter and concern that HD has with their 2007 FXDL Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

To begin, we apologize for any inconvenience that Mr. Nudels2u75 may have experienced in dealing with Harley-Davidson or any of its affiliates. Harley-Davidson and its independently owned and operated authorized dealers always strive to ensure that our customers receive a premium experience and a high level of service. Therefore, we looked into Mr. Nudels2u75 concern.

I am not a test pilot for HD…..I purchased a brand new scooter and just expected it to perform like one……One with minimal breakdowns

It is our understanding that one of Mr. Nudels2u75’s concerns is due to an after market modification to his motorcycle. The alleged front end wobble and wear pattern on the front tire are attributed to the Metzler after market tires on his motorcycle.

The wear pattern and wobble have been like this since the day of purchase of the brand new bike…..It has had several (HD Dunlop) tires on this bike…..The HD rep has witnessed this problem once in April 2007 at HD of the woodlands in Texas by David Grey…..The other time was July 2007 at Van Nuys HD in California by Bill Gonzales……Both times the front tire had plenty of wear but only on the sides in a wedge shape… the tire had very little wear in the center of the tire tread……To this day 4 times the HD Reps have met with me

This was the first time that any Metzler tires were ever installed on this bike, it was recommended by the service center…..due to the fact that nothing else was working to correct the problem….they had less than 2,000 miles on them…..HD asked me to take them off….

Mr. Nudels2u75 has been advised to put this motorcycle back to stock configuration on more than one occasion to rectify this concern.

HD asked me to put my bike back to stock which even included replacing other HD parts…..I was asked to do this one time and the next week when I returned back to California I had this work completed within 10 days total….

The security alarm/starting/electrical concern was resolved. Mr. Nudels2u75 was advised that the security alarm was not put into storage mode by him as outlined in his 2007 Owner’s Manual as to proper usage.

While this has been a continual problem, taking the bike while it was loaded onto a trailer and the service center could not get it

Boy; you've been thru Hell with that thing. Sorry to hear about such acavalier attitude from HD. Surely they can see that the problems experienced are above and beyond, and that all their hooey about "stock configuration" is a crock in regard to most issues mentioned. Not sure what I'd've done different from you.Sounds like a Liberty Bell sized gremlin-chasermight not be enough to shake 'em off your scoot. I'd prob'ly be aboutready to call a priest; you haven't noticed either of your heads spinning in circles have you?Better luck. P.

thats what i am wondering in his post yesterday he had 53000 miles or so on it and accorcing to this letter there was 44000 miles on it . so even after he sent it in he put at least 9000 + miles on it . that dosent seem to be a motorcycle that isnt operational ? seems just fine to me .

I dont know about all this either . I mean a 1000 miles a week ?

to be honest its just hard for me to belive . but hell brother i hopoe ya get it all worked out .

ride safe .
