Ok Guy's I rode 2 hour's and bike ran real well no popping on decell no misses then I checked the plug's both are almost gray on tip's threaded part brown but tip's were almost white between that and gray nor quiet cream so what do you think the stealers said I could burn a hole in the piston but there mechanic said it ran great should I let it go or get a fuelpac & big sucker I think I could install them my self so please give me your input !!?as alway's thank you
I never looked at them before and the test rider at the stealer said it ran fine ? That is when the manager said I could burn a hole in a piston !
OK, well, I'm just offering what I have heard and my own experience:
I asked four different dealers this same question when I first bought my bike new last June. " Will it hurt to put on slip-ons?" I got a mixed bag of answers but finally the dealer I trust in Vancouver gave me the info. and I have heard it confirmed here...Intake is the one to worry about, if you open up the intake with a hi-flo A/C you will run lean and hotter so you should get some kind of fuel mgmt system i.e. SERT, stage 1 download, PC3, TMAX...etc etc.
Just slipons won't change anything coming in. I put cycleshacks on at about 2000 miles and ran forabout another 2000 miles before I put on my AC and I had no problems, I got the stg 1 download when I put on the AC. in fact, the dealer told me not to put on the A/c at home and then ride the 20 miles infor the download, hesaid go ahead and put it on in our parking lot just before the download, and that is what I did.
