2 fobs and the siren is excellent!! i dont get why people wouldnt go for it you know, its a security system!! and its easy to isolate, its all right there in the instructions...
That Lo-Jack is great technology. Last week they busted a bike theft ring in our area because of Lo-Jack. A guy had it on his crotch rocket and it led the cops to the bike thieves. The other bikers are thankful to him since his Lo-Jack led to the recovery of their bikes too. He said he had his bike stolen 3 times and didn't expect to get it back this time. But all 3 times Lo-Jack helped him to get his bike back. Even though he has Lo-Jack, the guy needs to keep a better eye on his bike!
Hmm... I just looked in the service manual and it appears to be about a 10 minute job to plug the module in. Makes me wonder if it could be taken out as easily to disable the system!
If that thing ias armed you will not be disarming it by pulling the module out and replacing it with another. Once armed only the fob or the security code will disarm it.
Disconnecting the battery while it is disarmed will not cause you to have to reprogram it either. At least not on my system. Once it is installed you don't really have to worry about it. Also my siren has only gone off when I have forgot to disarm it and got on the bike. It isnt like a car alarm that keeps going off. Only if the bike is tipped up or turned on.
Looks like I got ripped off...! Mine was used, but the bike only came with one fob. I just can't lose it guess, or I need to get a backup from the dealer. If I'm not mistaken, you can also de-arm the alarm using a code with the turn signals.
