I just finished up a build the other night, and he is using a power commander with it.
My question is this...............
On a '07 Street Bob, when you first turn the key on the PCIIIUSB powers up, then when the fuel pump turns off the PCIIIUSB turns off, hit the start button and to start the bike and the PCIIIUSB powers back on and works again. Now to me, that just doesn't sound right.......in the past when I was using a PCIIIUSB on my own bike it would stay on all the time the key was on.
Also, he is telling me that when he's in 2nd gear and hitting some higher RPM's...........the PCIIIUSB is cutting out or turning off from the sounds of it...............what would cause that?
It sounds like we need to find a better 12v keyed source for the power to the PCIIIUSB, does that make sense?
the power up thing is fine,, the cut out could be over revving, as the motor revs out a lot easier with stage one especially in lower gears, have you got rev extend on it? You dont need any other power source as long as its plugged in correctly. other things you can try: play around with maps, speak to jamie at fuel moto and get the thing on a dyno...
Yep my 07 Street Bob does the same thing with power up on the PCIII. Try starting the bike right after turning the key on and flipping the run button, it will start much quicker that way. Don't wait for that yellow diagnostic light to go out which is a myth anyways, you never need to wait for that light. I think it was a rumor started by a Jap bike owner.

This thing is far from a stage 1, it's a stage 3 103" build..............which pulls like a freight train until it dies out. You have to turn the key off then on again and the bike will power back up.
Jamie hasn't helped out at all........we've been waiting for him to send the map he says he has for a month now, and the power commander came from him originally.
Dyno is a definite with a build like this, but for right now we are trying to figure out what's making it cut out like he says it's doing.
