Any one no what this is all about and what it replaces and takes the place of it sounds to me like I can keep my K&N stock replacement filter and not need a PC III or fuel PAC with my V/H slipon's( They sound great ) please let me know Gentleman ?
IED's plug into the O2 sensor line, easy to do, go to www.nightrider.com and get more info. I have them on my bike changes AFR to a richer condition in closed loop mode.
In the tech forums you'll find a long thread on this in EFM, etc.[8D]

RE: XiED
I researched the alternatives. This seemed to be the easiest, most cost effective approach after reading NightRider's page. I had a few question which he promptly answered by e-mail. I just put them on today, I'll let you know after some riding.
I have my xied's in front me of since it's been raining for 24 hrs. I will install them in a few days. Here's the instructions:Locate front/rear 02 sensors,Follow wiring 6-8" to black connector,Front connector may be behind a plastic panel,Remove the seat for rear sensor on Dyna,Cut any tie wraps holding the connectors in place,Unplug weather tight connector,Plug the xied BETWEEN 02 sensor and wiring harness,Make sure the connectors lock into each other,Tie wrap the xied in place to prevent it from hitting the exhaust system. Installation is comeplete and your motorcycle is ready to ride.

Very easy, like labfreak says. Locate the O2 sensor on each pipe and trace the wire back. On my bike (an FXDF) the front connector is in a small box on the inside of the frame under the voltage regulator. Examine the box, there are two little clips that when pressed together make the box flip open. The connector for the rear pipe is under the seat. XIED stands for Xtreme Inline Enrichment Device.
I have the Xieds on my bike. My take on it is they lower the fuel ratio to 13.8 : 1 in closed loop mode. Closed loop mode is when the engine is at an idle or cruising. So in theory if you did not do the download you will be too leanduring acceleration. You should be ok at idle or cruise. I'm no expert but thats my opinion.

I heard it was just the oppisite. That it actually makes you run just a bit richer so that the engine stays cooler. www.nightriders.com actually says it is 14:2 from 14:7. But then I have the 06 Dyna which is different than the others.
