I'm with the Idiot on this one- Dyna's are well regarded by many as the best-handling big twin around- not just by HD riders, but the motorcycling press, as well. The V-Rod owners might have something to say about it, but compared to a softail, there is no comparison; a Dyna will show clean heels to any softail around.Experience being equal, there is no way a softail can keep up with a Dyna in hard riding conditions. Not only are they lighter, but they make better power, as the counter-balancer in the Softail engine does take a little of the bark out of the bite. Not much, but if you A/B them in one day, you'd notice the difference. Further, the Dyna is priced better- the Softail family is Harley's best selling line, so they're priced accordingly (a Softail Custom has a base MSRP Higher than a base Electra Glide....go figure).
Softails are great bikes. If you buy one, you'll probably love it. But, a Dyna will love you back! And hey, you get the fun-loving Dyna Riders Forum at no Extra Charge!
dont get me wrong but all the models are beautiful bikes.....i wouldnt mind owning 1 of each class....but the dyna definatly sacrificed style for performance.....
A lot of people here are saying that Dyna's sacrifice style for performance... Maybe I am 'heavily' biased but I really love the look of the Street Bob, and I actually chose it over a Fat Boy, and I don't regret it, I actually love my ride!
