Default Changing out the speedometer

I'm changing out my speedometer on my 08 FXDWG with a combo speed/tach unit. I have the console flipped over and all the wire harness connectors removed but one. The wire harness is connected to the trip button and I don't know how it disconnects. How do you remove the wire harness from the trip button?

Thanks,
Richard

Is the trip button still connected to the console? If so remove the rubber bootie and there should be a plastic nut to remove, which will allow you to remove the trip reset button.

Not sure if this helps.

Just grab the rubber, squeeze a little and it should unscrew no problem. I just checked my manual, FXDWG "Unscrew rubber boot".

Do not try to remove the rubber boot alone. I comes off by unscrewing it....
