I've got the bare bones on my sg and it looks great and seems comfy but it puts me too far back to be comfortable with the forwards and drag bars, am thinking about the corbin close solo, has anyone got any experience with it.

Thanks Ron
The Barebones is a great looking seat, but sitting so far back and without rear support made my Dyna's handling feel squirrely and I never felt locked into the bike. I got a Corbin Close Solo and it sits as low as the Barebones but brings me up closer to the bars and keeps me from sliding around front to back. Although I never had a problem with the comfort of the Barebones it won't be coming back.
Sandy.

2007FXDC, that's whatI was hoping for. "Free range *** area" that's a good one. I also want to sit in the bike not on it. The damn thing looks so freaking cool I guess I'll give it a shot.
Thanks all!

I put on the LePera Up Front Silhouette seat. Same exact seat as the barebones, but moves you closer to the handlebars (almost 3 inches) and f still gets your feet flat to the ground. Looks great and feels fine (for now...).

I got it directly from Corbin. For some reason it was priced at $330.00, the lowest I've seen before or since. The regular price of $430.00 is crazy!
As far as the Barebones, the qualityis great for the price, it looks terriffic, but it put a lot of pressure on my arms to maintain a reasonable riding position. I never got the feeling I was riding "in" the bike. It was more like hanging on for dear life. This would probably not be a problem for a taller person.

Not only is it not a problem for a taller person, it's bliss for a taller person. I'm 6'4" and the reason I'm not hanging on to the handlebars to maintain my position is because I'm already as far back as I can go on the seat and loving every minute of it.

Lepera makes2 solo seats that are almost identical except for their coverings - the BareBones and the Silhouette Solo. I don't know about the BareBones, but there is a "reach" version of the Silhouette, as "IRide" pointed out, that is meant to move you back forward.

Thanks fellas, one more thing. How far back would you say it puts you? I definitely want to go lower but don't want to go too far back with the forward controls, I'm 5'10" with a 32" inseam.
I'm the same height and inseam and it's a perfect fit. You won't regret getting the barebones

I don't have the barebones, but I do have the Silhouette. I got it to play it safe, didn't want a seat too hard. Starting out the seat feels a little hard but the longer you sit in it the better it feels. I've rode 8+ hours on it and the longer I sat the better it felt.
