ORIGINAL: twofish

Chrome air cleaner cover’s next with subculture08’s
Krylon # 3370 Jet Black Wrinkle .

Sand blasting first may be in order on this one.

Any other good options for prep work?

The wrinkle is all about the temp. of the part. Two options

Sit the part in direct sun when it is drying
or
A heat gun - do not get toooo near the part or it will bubble

Good job twofish -- and a note if anyone is concerned with just leaving a primered surface exposed to fingerprints, dirt, oil, road grime (once you mess with primer she'll discolor/lighten in just the spots you rub or touch) - lay down over the primer some Krylon Satin Clear #1313 or Matte Clear #1311, or for a different look, semi-flat. I'm sure other brands work as well but these are inexpensive and readily available (WalMart, hardware stores, etc). Often just an automotive flat black primer alone will tend to rub off a little, or develop a sheen if rubbed (like with a pant leg or just washing and then drying). No idea about some of the wrinkle finishes, but probably fine w/o any top coat.
