I am kind of a 'reverse rider'. I ride to work everyday, but don't ride most weekends because I am with the wife, dogs, going to store, whatever. I totally depend on this bike for my daily commute. Weird thing is that means I use the weekends to tear down and do mods, but have to have it back up by Sunday night for a test ride.
Last year I sold my "pig" of a pick-up that got 7 mpg and bought a Super Glide Custom that gets 45 mpg. The Super Glide Custom is the only transportation that I own. But I
must say that my live-in girlfriend ownes a Toyota Corolla.
I predict that as gas prices go up and up that you will see
alotmore motorcycles out and about. In my opinion it
does not make any sense to drive a pick-up that gets
7 mpg, that no one can afford to drive.
I think in the future you will really appreciate your only
transportation the "07 Dyna Low Rider"...
In the future if you see me on a 150 cc scooter wearing my harley jacket please don't laugh my harley is at home . OK maybe I won't wear the jacket.[sm=biker.gif][sm=laughingsmilie.gif][sm=laughingsmilie.gif]
The low rider gets more than twice the mileage as my truck did. Snarlyjack - you are exactly right. It seems that almost over night a lot of Harleys suddenly appared at the parking lot at work. Maybe six that weren't there the week before. One guy showed up with a brand new '08 low rider he bought the day before. It isn't just the price of gas for me - I want to ride everyday, so I put the saddlebags on and it will mean more frequent trips to the grocery store, that's all (smaller loads than before).
