My new Lowrider quit on me last Sat. with 557 miles on it. It started bucking like hell, but I managed to get it back to my driveway where it stalled and would not start again. Needless to say, I was way beyond pissed. The dealer picked it up Mon. and said it was the fuel pressure regulator. They put in a new one, but that didn't do it. HD authorized them to replace the entire fuel system on the bike. I bought the bike with the custom paint job, and the dealer said it seems that some of the compound they use on the tank got inside and in the fuel system. Couple of questions. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Also, would anyone know if this could have damaged the engine? Their supposed to get the bike back to me this weekend. I just want know if I would be justified in demanding that the dealer or HD extend the warranty on the engine.

Enjoy the ride! (Hopefully I will be again soon)
It sounds like the custom paint job was done by an HD-authorized dealer. Yes?
And that it was done as part of the purchase. Right?
If so, then you are fully covered by their warranty. You can _ask_ that they extend the warranty on the engine, but if I were in your shoes I'd raise hell to get a new engine installed _right now_ or get a new bike provided. They can swap the tins so you keep your custom paint.
Don't rely on a warranty for later when you're seeing severe issues now.
They won't be happy about it but they've already got your money. You gave them good money, they should give you a reliable product.
