well you can clearly see the top mount and the front, the backs kinda stashed away but it also runs with the same pivot as the swingarm soo id say check the front and top see if they wiggle or if the paints flaked like it was stressed orcrack. why what kinda things are happin to make you think thats whats up??[>:]
Ok figured out my problem: tank bolts were loose! Everytime I hit a bump I could hear it clunk, so my nieghbor and I were checking it out and he suggested the tank and sure enough that was it. Appreciate your guys info though.
When i did a total rebuild with a new SE 6 speed, I figured I might as well throw in two new mounts for good measure. The rear mount is tied into the swing arm Axel, and is allot of
work to replace if all you wanted to do was replace it. My dealer said that they have never ordered a rear mount, but the front one they have in stock. It gets the hardest work out
up on the business end as you might have guessed. My 02 WG's front mount was easy. Pull the pipes, stick a jack under the motor for support, and pull the two bolts on the motor
to the mount. In the front, two big Allen head bolts hold the whole thing to the frame. It'll be nasty from all the goo from oil changes, and critters you murdered over the years.. and
from what I'm told, the oil softens the rubber over time... Might be why they keep it in stock... Anyway, book says to start her up for 10 seconds with the two front (Allen)bolts lose to
center the new one, and torq em down to 24 ft pounds. I'd say its a two to three hour job, less without beverages around to distract you.
