Default SO INSTALLED MY NEW THUNDERHEADER

After running V&H short shots with quiet baff. I finally installed my Thunderheader on my 08 FXDC. Bike runs much better and sounds awesome. The popping is gone also. Just have the dealer download. PC is in the near future to get it perfect.

The pipe is bitchinbut the $140 heat shields are a complete joke. The poorest engineered pieces of sh*t I have seen. The collector shield does not even fit right so im taking it off.

I would like to sell the V&H Short shots if anyone is interested. They are only 2 months old with maybe 900mi.

Here is a cell pic but I will post some better shots later today.

The heat shields look good from here.I didn't get any for mine because the guy I ordered the T header from told me they were crap.In retrospect with the kind of heat this thing throws off I wish I would have spent the money.I plan on re painting and re wrapping mine this summer by the time I do that I'll be up to the cost of the heat shields.

Im really happy with the perf. and sound. It barks nicely. I guess maybe im just being a bit to picky with the shileds? They just dont wrap around as much as the V&H shields do. I will say Vance & Hines heat shields are some of the best in comparison.

Special Ed...You made me fell a little better that they look ok to you...Thanks. I was just never happy wit the short shots. Just looked empty by the swingarm. They did not perform all that well and the popping was horrible. With the TH popping is gone.

Two things I will never change on my bike.....My Corbin seat and my Thunderheader 2/1. Damn, they sound nice.

Forget abou the sound and the looks, the performance is great.

I went from a 2-2 screamin eagle to the 2-1 thunder header, man, it was like ridin a whole new bike.

Yeah, the heat shields are sucky, but I rode for a few months with out them, trust me, here in AZyou need them.

It popped like crazy with the stage 1 download and the short shots. So much so that I thought the dealer screwed me and did not do the download. Took it back and they assured me it was done. They said the prob was the short shots.

Now, with the TH, seems like the popping is gone. I have only put about 10-15mi on it since I installed the TH lastnight. Will know better after the weekend. I still want to do a PC or SERT in the near future.

Dealer said my warranty would void if I didSERT or PC. So, I figured I would have them do the stage 1 and later add the PC. That way if I have a warranty issue I can just pull the PC off and all thats there is the stage 1 they did. SERT might be different as It does not stay on the bike.
