Going to put it back in when green, and tighten it down good. Can red loctite be used on the batt screws?
*Side note, Second season with this original battery, had it on the tender all winter long. Should it be replaced? Why did it all of a sudden get weak?
The battery should last longer if you ride reguarly. If it sits for long periods of time they do go bad faster but should still last 2 years. Maybe because the terminals were loose it wasnt charging good.
If anything once ya get it charged, load test it. If you can't DIY take it to a auto shop and they can do it for ya. If it passes and the problem keeps up I would have the Stator checked!
No way I could have incorrectly connected my new XIED to the O2 sensor up front is there? Only found one wire to and from the sensor, and placed the XIED in-line with it. If I had connected that plug to a Voltage regulator connector, I would have known instantly, correct?
My battery had to be replaced just shy of 2 yrs. and it was ridden regularly, 20,000 + miles.
I believe with red loctite you have to heat it to remove the bolt and aren't the batt terminalslead?
Red loctite is called thread locker for a reason. use a heat gun to warm up the bolts then try to back out the bolts be careful with the heat. Don't you have lock washers (split washers) under the bolt heads? While everything is apart clean all surfaces with a wire brush, re-assemble. Start the bike and check thevoltage going to the battery, look for 14.1-14.2 volts from the regulator to the battery.
