Default Getting ready for the first multi-day trip

Finally have the date set of 6/20-22 for what will be the first overnight trip my new bike, or wife have ever been on. I was playing with the new HD Ride Planner (neat, but I prefer Google Maps) and though I'd share the link. This will take us from St. Paul, MN to Duluth. We are staying at the Best Western for a decent price with the HOG discount. From Duluth we will do a loop through Ely, MN up in the Boundary Waters. The second day we are spending on the North Shore of Superior, then coming home on the third day. All in all we will do 900 miles in three days.

I'd be happy to hear feedback on the route.

I spent 2.5 weeks on the road on my bike when I got back from Desert Storm. It was amazing. I'm really looking at getting back out for several days; plus the North Shore of Superior is supposed to be an incredible ride.

Sounds like a great trip! We are heading out Thursday morning from Jax to go to the Smokey Mountains and will be back Tuesday night. Five days in all. Staying at a Best Western near Augusta, GA the first night, the Ironhorse Motorcycle Lodge in Robbinsville for two nights, then a B&B in Waynesville on the fourth night, then heading down to Charleston for the fifth night.

Have fun on your trip! I'm really excited about ours!

One more thing, I really like the ride planner as I can click and drag the routes from one road to another. It takes a little while to get used to but I like being able to see where the hotels and Harley dealerships are along the way. We'll see how good it is this weekend!

Bring warm clothes!!!
It can be 85 away from the lake and get to 40 next to it within a few miles.
Great ride and wide roads up there but watch for the ditch goats lots of them around!
