I purchased my 1st Harley last week. It will be deliverd in September, but I will not return from Japan until Jan 07. I have waited all my life for this, and getting any sleep for the next ten months will be hard.
Anyway, I have been looking at pictures at all over the internet, but can not get any with Gas tank and handle bar shots. If someone can email me or post a few pictures of an 06 Low Rider, I would be thrilled. I am curious what the tach and speedo look like, as well as the indicator lights being mounted on the handlebars. I was also wondering where the keys go since I do not see the location like the 05 used to be. I have seen a few pictures with remote key chains for other Dyna models. Does the Low Rider have this, and what does it do? My email is lavoietm@yahoo.com
I do not mean to sound ignorant... this is my first Harley. There are not too many here in Japan, except for a few sportsters. Thanks...
The ignition and the steering lock are as one, located in the steering head just in front of the gas tank on the right side. Quite a few folks complain about the key falling out when in the off position as it is a tubular one, apparently the trick is leaving it on accessory when stoped so it doesn't fall out. The speedo and tach are approx. 3" in diameter in a fully chromed dash the length of the tank.
Looks pretty good.....
Thanks gents... Just what I was looking for. Being my 1st Harley, and never settling for a Sportster after all these years was worth the wait. I am soooooo glad I went with the low Rider. I love everything about it. The only mods will be grips, pegs, and exaust (for now).
I was concerned it would be too small for me being 5'6", but after talking to people, it seems just right. Can not wait to see you guys on the open road!
