I always thought Doug was a great guy.

 

I will miss seeing Doug here, but I am devastated about the loss of Snappy.

This is the sad but true part of the bannings.

I owe a bunch to DougsDyna and Trotterfortheir knowledge and help when in trouble technically.

They both helped me get out of bad situations while working on the bike.

 

Snappy, I will never forget the picture of Snappy wearing a condom.
Not sure I have ever laughed so hard, and worried at the same time before seeing that pisture.

 

I remember that very same picutre. I also remember being in the post office shortly after and seeing this:

 

That was some funny ****.

So both the humor and the knowledge will be missed.....

 

i hope i don't get banned for this but it seems like if we know why people are getting banned than we could make sure we don't fall prey for the same offense. or is there a list of bannable rules somewhere? (i couldn't find one) i don't read every thread but i haven't read anything from the recent causalitiesthat would warrant a banning. (in my opinion) maybe I'm missing something

Mudpuddlewas made a mod because he's a good guy and he's knowledgable.The fact that you are making this personal with him is a problem for me. I find that to be very disrespectful, not to mention you sound like a whiner because either (a) you wanted to be a mod or (b) you have an issue with mudpuddle.

Now that I have said all that, I'll try to answer the original question regarding banned members. I want you to understand that most of the people we ban on any given day are TROLLS. These are just people who sign up on the board to cause trouble or to spam their products for free on our forum. We've all seen these idiots.....and I'd wager 99.9% of us hate it.

Now, addressing several of the more recent bans/members leaving, it's not as easy to explain. Alot of these guys were long standing members who knew the rules. They also continued to break these rules, even after numerous warnings. We've had a few of our moderators do this. None of these guys are here any longer.

Some of these people have not been banned, but left on their own free will for a couple of different reasons. Some didnt want to pick a side between their friends, others wanted to do things differently, and some simply wanted to be able to do what they wanted without any rules. I dont begrudge any of these people, but they have to understand that this forum will not tolerate people who come here to cause trouble. Some of the people who left are really great people, with tons of knowledge. This is very, very unfortunate, and believe me, none of us like this.

I just want to say this really quickly: Almost all of the members who were banned recently, were violating the rules of this forum repeatedly and on purpose. They were warned several times, and most didnt care. Some of them were even working together to cause trouble. Most of you know that this has to do with another forum.

Like Terry said, if you really want to discuss this more in depth, you really should shoot him or myselfa PM. The reason I'm explaining it a bit more is because you are right that you as a member deserve to have an idea of whats going on, and why things are happening. However, at the same time, it's a very difficult situation and we are trying to look out for all of our members, not just a few...

 

The forum rules are posted in the upper right corner of every page of HDF. Essentially, multiple violations or major violations of those rules can/will result in either post approval and/or being banned.

Simply breaking a rule doesnt generally result in either, as we do try to explain the situation and allow for you to correct it. You wont be banned for asking this.

Understand, we dont like this situation any more then you do. Some of these guys have been personal friends with each other for years, so this isnt just a forum member thats leaving, but real life friends outside of here.

 

cou9ar and Dynaflyer, what is the problem withMudpuddle or "no shirt joe" jrk for all that mattters being Mods. Both are knowledgeable, contributre a TON and always willing to help, never mind the Fact that they Are GREAT People.

yeah tha Banning continues and SUCKS big time, we do reap what we sow.
The major problem here is that without people like Trotter, Doug, Mud,Joe, (and many more) why bother coming here, I meana Forum full ofFn Oil, what color bike should I buy or my bike Vibrates threads. I know this might interest some of you but really. Look at what has been posted in the last few weeks, the quality of post has really gone to SH!+
